BRINGING MUSIC TO THE STREETS AND JOY TO THE WORLD

Play it forward with 1000Pianos.org

OUR VISION

Introducing 1000Pianos, a revolutionary non-profit ambitious project that is bringing music to the streets!

Our goal is to place 1000 permanent all-weather, eco-friendly smart pianos in city centers around the world. Our mission is to enliven the streets with music and cultural activity, fostering a sense of community through the universal language of music all year long. We also aim to raise awareness and create inclusive spaces for neurodiverse individuals, including those with ADHD, by celebrating music as a tool for expression, connection, and healing.

These pianos are not only beautiful to look at - they are the most durable instruments in the world and are also eco-friendly and built to withstand moisture, rain, UV rays, dust, snow and intensive public use. Whether you're a school student, senior, or just someone passing by, we invite you to join in the fun and play one of our pianos.

1000Pianos is not only bringing music to the streets of major cities, but also to communities in developing countries and Africa. Our mission is to provide equal opportunities for children to access and learn music. We believe that music has the power to heal, and to inspire. Our goal is to bring this transformative power of music to children who may not have access to it otherwise. By providing them with accessible pianos in public places, we are giving them the opportunity to express themselves, to dream, and to create. We want to empower these children to reach their full potential through the beauty and magic of music.

Imagine a world where the sounds of music fill the air and bring people together in shared joy.

With 1000Pianos, that vision is becoming a reality. Join us in creating a more musical world for all.

PUBLIC PIANOS, PRIVATE JOY

Music has the power to transform public spaces into peaceful and joyful places, where people can express themselves and connect with others.

Our pianos bring a touch of intimacy and community to anonymous public spaces, encouraging people to engage and interact with each other.

They also offer a welcoming space for neurodiverse individuals, including those with ADHD, to express themselves freely through music, outside of structured environments.

EMPOWERING COMMUNITY PRIDE

By providing shared experiences and cultural opportunities, we can foster a sense of pride and ownership among residents, promoting civic engagement in the neighborhood.

Our pianos serve as a platform for aspiring musicians to perform and for tourists and locals to enjoy impromptu concerts. They also provide children and young people with a chance to try playing the piano and potentially spark an interest in music.

ARTISTIC EXPRESSION, COMMUNITY IMPACT

Placing pianos in public spaces not only enhances the aesthetic and cultural value of the community, but also gives local leaders the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to the well-being of their residents.

It also provides a unique opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents by decorating, designing, and painting the pianos, thus expressing their creativity and adding to the cultural richness of the community. Our pianos serve as a canvas for artistic expression, and as a symbol of the community's commitment to enhancing the lives of its residents through the beauty of music and the arts.

OUR STORY

1000Pianos was founded by David (Shlomi) Grandes, a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist, and Jordi Vivancos, a pianist, music lecturer, music activist, and director of Maria Canals International Music Competition of Barcelona (MCB) with the aim of bringing joy and music to public spaces around the world.

Their journey began in Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Spain. Every year, Vivancos and the Maria Canal Barcelona team set up pianos in public spaces across Spain for a few days, bringing music, sparking excitement and joy to the community. However, traditional pianos are not durable enough to withstand the elements, so they can't be left outside for long periods of time.

Determined to bring the joy of music to the public year-round, Grandes and Vivancos teamed up with Cadenza to create a new kind of piano that could withstand rain, moisture, dust, and even snow. These pianos are powered by solar panels and can be managed remotely, allowing users to control the playing times, sound volume, charging status, usage reports and more.

Following the successful launch of dozens of pianos in many of cities around the world, including Barcelona, Baku, Luxembourg, Warsaw, and Jerusalem, we are excited to bring the magic of music to even more communities through partnerships with sponsors, brands, organizations, and talented musicians.

Join us on our mission to bring the gift of music to the world, spread the word and bring 1000Pianos to life.
